I have an idea! As I was looking through all of the donut pictures i found out the the backrounds were all different! So now I think the pictures have a little bit of meaning. Maybe the artist found all the types of donuts and frew skys that would match the donut!
As awesome as that is, I have absolutely no idea why somebody would draw a donut in the sky or what its supposed to mean.
ReplyDeleteI think the donut in the sky means that donuts are "above" everything! And also it's a very orriginal painting!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it means that they stand out from everything else. Brown does stand out in a blue and white sky so maybe I'm right.
ReplyDeleteI think it is cool how one half of the donut has sprinkles and the other doesnt
ReplyDeleteDid you click on the link? He has a whole series of donut paintings.
ReplyDeleteWhy would someone paint donuts? It certainly makes you wonder?
When I taught at an art school (many years ago) we drew donuts with chalk pastels...and then they ate them!

Great theories, Saralin and Urbanplanet. Maybe you're both right...
ReplyDeleteIt was a great idea putting the donut in the sky because it makes it look like the donut is a special donut.
ReplyDeleteThe 3D texture of the donut chocolate icing looks really goopy and i can feel that there is a really squishy feeling to that
ReplyDeleteI think he painted pictures of donuts to make us realize that we see art everyday, but we forget to apreciate it.
ReplyDelete@Vaelan: It does make that donut seem pretty special doesn't it!
ReplyDelete@Ji-Eun: I feel the squishiness too!
@Emma: Yes! Art is everywhere!
I found this cool water painting video! Ignore the music in the background.
