That is really cool how there is 100 million fake sunflower seeds! I wonder who's job it was to count all the seeds? Or did every one just say how many they made then added the numbers all together? I wonder if it was boring to make SO many seeds? So many questions so little answers!
I wonder where someone got the idea to make a room full of fake sunflower seeds. It would take lots of imagination. And to get so many artists to make them would be quite the task as well. The artists must have a lot of preseverence to make so many. Even though there are lots of artists, you would still have to make a lot. I wonder how long it would take for one artist to make 100 million of them. It would take a long time! It is so cool how people can just walk up and touch the seeds since most artwork in museums is behind barriers or glass.
I wonder how people can walk on the seeds without ruining or breaking the design or the seeds but why would you waste so many seeds to make a art sculpture?
I wonder how long it took the artist to make all of these sun flower seeds, must have took a very long time. I wonder why this artist wanted to make a sculpture on sun flower seeds? I think that is kinda weird but pretty cool!
I watched both videos related to the sunflower seeds and I thought that the idea is very interesting. In some ways, I feel that you need to experience the feeling of walking on top of the seeds in order to understand the art. What I like most about the peice, is that some of the seeds have deformaties (little holes, bite-like marks...). It makes them look even more real. I liked the movie about how the seeds were made. It seemed like alot of time, but if the artist was inspired about the project, I guess that this time would be well spent.
You would have to be dedicated to make that many sunflower seeds. Its very unique to see people around the world doing very unique and sometimes crazy things.

ReplyDeleteThoughtful comments, Elizabeth. Sometimes the part of the artistic vision is the perseverance and dedication that is required to get it done!
